Back to school – safely

Date: 05 September 2023

As the new school year begins, children and young people will be returning to classes, or starting school for the first time.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) is helping children to stay safe and keep others safe by sharing the StayWise learning resources site.

StayWise is a free educational learning platform. It brings together educational resources from blue-light emergency services and safety charities in one place, making it easy for teachers, parents and children to access free resources on a range of safety topics.

The learning resources use games and fun activities to teach young people how to stay safe and to know what to do in the event of an emergency.
Teachers can access lesson plans and other resources. Materials are linked to the national curriculum.

EEAST was the first ambulance service to host StayWise and nearly 1,800 educational materials have been downloaded through the EEAST portal since then.
