EEAST re-signs Armed Forces Covenant

EEAST has reinforced its commitment to improving care for members of the Armed Forces Community including reservists and veterans by signing up once again to the Armed Forces Covenant.

EEAST was one of the first organisations in the UK to sign up to the covenant in 2016 and was only the second ambulance trust to receive formal accreditation.

The covenant is a formal commitment to ensuring members of the armed forces community are never disadvantaged through service life, EEAST ensures care, training staff on veteran-specific needs, and employment opportunities are embedded throughout the Trust.

EEAST Chief Executive Tom Abell said:

“In addition to supporting members of the armed forces – past and present – in the community, the trust also employs a large number of veterans and reservists, across a range of disciplines within the organisation, so renewing our commitment to the covenant is a way of recognising the contributions they make to EEAST every day."
