Get Vaccinated: Get Winter Strong

Senior managers from East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust didn’t hesitate to roll their sleeves up to support the NHS this winter – by getting their flu jabs.

Dr Simon Walsh, Medical Director for EEAST (pictured) was just one of the ambulance service’s executive team taking advantage of the vaccination being offered to all staff.

He said: “Flu vaccination is important because, while everyone finds winter flu unpleasant, the levels of staff sickness caused by flu can add significantly to pressure on the whole NHS during the winter months.
“And for some people, particularly the elderly and the vulnerable, it can be dangerous and even life threatening.”
