Boost for Community First Responders in Cromer thanks to Town Council

Cromer Town Council has donated another kit bag for use by the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) community first responder group who cover the town.

Peter Sefton-Smalley, Community Response Manager at EEAST for Norfolk and Waveney said: “Thank you to the Cromer Town Council for their fantastic donation that has gone towards the purchase of a community first responder (CFR) kit. This equipment will enable the local first responders to proactively serve their community in providing emergency first response to the residents of Cromer and it would not be possible without the support of the local town council.”

Emma Spagnola, Cromer Town Mayor, who made the formal presentation said: ‘As Cromer Town Council, we are pleased to supply a whole kit for a CFR. We are aware of the amazing work the Cromer group and all other CFRs provide to the town and beyond.’

An extra kit bag will enable the team to provide further lifesaving support to patients in the Cromer town area.

Community first responders are volunteers, who operate within the communities in which they live or work, often providing early life-saving emergency aid ahead of ambulance arrival. They are trained and governed by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. 

​Our volunteers are called on any time, day or night, to help reach patients most in need.  Attending around 1,500 incidents per month, their contribution really does save lives, reduce pain and provide reassurance to those requiring emergency care. 

Your support helps fund enhanced equipment, uniform and training for our lifesaving CFR groups.

Thanks to the generosity from donations, legacy gifts and grants the East of England Ambulance Service Charity is able to support our staff, volunteers and local communities in ways above and beyond what NHS funding can ordinarily provide.
