Raising funds to support the staff, volunteers, and local communities of the East of England Ambulance Service, strengthening the provision of outstanding care to patients.
What your donations could be used towards
Equipment - Defibrilators and vital equipment have been purchased, thanks to your donations;
Wellbeing - Benches and garden maintenance for staff to enjoy whilst on their breaks;
Educational - Updating vital guidance books and textbooks for clinicians in order to ensure positive patient outcomes on every occasion.
Helping our volunteers - providing equipment, clothing and training for our community first responders (CFRs) who dedicate their free time to save lives.

We are always grateful for any donation received, whether large or small.
If you wish your donation to be used for a specific fund, station or community first responder group, please specify this and we shall do our best to accommodate your wishes.

What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your donations.
This means that if you are a UK tax payer your donation can increase by 25% at no extra cost to you. For every £1 you give, we can reclaim 25p.
Direct debit / Standing order
If you wish to make a regular donation, you can set up a direct debit or standing order. This can be monthly, quarterly or annually and you can specify when you wish the amount to be taken from your bank account.
Cheque
When sending a donation by cheque, please provide your name, address, details of your donation and whether you would like to add Gift Aid*. Please send your cheque made payable to ‘East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust – Charitable Fund’ to:

Leaving a legacy?
Leaving a gift in your will to our charitable fund is a wonderful way for your generosity to last beyond your lifetime. This could either be in terms of a fixed amount or as part of the residue of your estate.
If you would like to do this, please contact the Charitable Funds Accountant when making or amending your will. Our team work with solicitors around bequests to ensure that the donor’s wishes are carried out.
A generous legacy from Megan Hilda Carter funded the purchase of 1,000 replacement defibrillator batteries for community-based AEDs which cost £125,000 and was rolled out before Winter 2019/20, ensuring the continued and safe operation of these defibrillators which are a crucial tool in early response. Making a gift in memory
Charitable gifts instead of flowers
At the time of a funeral, many people prefer to ask relatives and friends to make a donation to a charitable cause in lieu of flowers.
Donating to a Charitable Fund, Station or Community First Responder group
Charitable donors can specify to support our General Charitable Fund or a particular fund, ambulance station or community first responder (CFR) group which has a special relevance to them or that of a friend or relative.
Three CFR responder groups utilised their self-fundraised funds of £25,000 to provide specialised Raizer chairs and chargers in support of the Trust’s falls initiative, where first responders can assist in patient falls call outs.
Charitable Funds
Working with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, the charity is a separate legal entity registered with the Charity Commission. The charitable fund registered number is 1047987.

The annual reporting period of the Charitable Fund is from 1 April to 31 March each year. These are filed with the Charity Commission annually by 31 January of the year following. The latest independently reviewed annual report and financial statements are for the year to 31 March 2022 and are available on the Charity Commission website.
