Our media team

Enquiries

Our Communications Team runs a news desk for enquiries from local, regional and national media.

Larger scale incidents and general news are added to our News page, highlighted on the homepage and tweeted out via @EastEnglandAmb and posted on Facebook.

EEAST has a duty of care to its patients, and this extends to when we are responding to media enquiries.
We focus on providing information to the media about very serious incidents of which the public may need to be made aware.

This means we don't usually provide details about less serious incidents, nor general sightings of our ambulances and air ambulances.
In addition, we cannot confirm deaths or provide details about patients we attend at private addresses, or updates on the condition of patients who are no longer in our care.

We do consider other media enquiries, as well as interview and filming requests.

Please email these requests to media@eastamb.nhs.uk in the first instance.

Out of hours media calls

Evenings and weekends
The media desk is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

The dedicated out of office hours number is 0300 790 4051 from 4.45pm to 9.00am Monday to Friday evening, and throughout the weekend.
The person handling those calls is not working, but is on standby only for major and critical incidents we've declared.
This is to inform and support media and EEAST staff when we have declared a major incident, such as a train crash, etc.

The out of hours number is not for providing information on speculative enquiries, or on routine incidents which are ongoing, happened earlier in the day or on another day. Please email these requests to media@eastamb.nhs.uk.

If we don't pick up your call, please leave a voicemail with your name, contact details, and brief details.
We’ll get back to you on the next working day.
