How we make decisions

Our Board is responsible for making decisions about the organisation and hold public meetings every other month. Information on our Board members and access to public Board papers are available on our Trust Board pages.

Feedback from patients

We involve people in our decisions about the organisation and are interested in hearing about your experiences with us. Our Trust User Group (TUG) are volunteers from around the region with different backgrounds and interests, who are ‘critical friends’ and work within their communities with staff, other volunteers and the public to provide us feedback on areas such as clinical quality and care.

We also run surveys on a regular basis as one of the methods for obtaining feedback.

Equality impact assessments

We use equality impact assessments to examine our activities and ensure we are tackling any inequality issues.

NHS constitution

The NHS constitution lays out the fundamental principles and values of the NHS in England. We use these principals to underpin our culture as an ambulance service and an NHS provider.   It was first published in 2009 following consultation overseen by leading healthcare experts and stakeholders and it sets out rights to which patients, public and staff are entitled, and pledges what the NHS is committed to achieve, together with responsibilities, which the public, patients and staff owe to one another to ensure that the NHS operates fairly and effectively.
